What We Do

Jamii Life is a social enterprise that aims to redesign home care delivery -- to increase accessibility, transparency, quality care and peace of mind through our care platform -- in South Africa, and eventually across Africa.

We are committed to making sure that families are always connected and always informed of loved one’s care.

Jamii means community in Swahili. Our mission is to bring affordable, sustainable home care to all South Africans that need it. We aim to build communities united by caring for each other, uplifiting each other and working together to live prosperous and productive lives.

“Jamii Life is Built for Our Grandmothers.”

Our mothers, fathers, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends, and all those we hold dear who need a helping hand.

Who We Are

Our team is lead by bright inventors, pioneers, and passionate community-driven entrepreneurs. Our core team members have a combined 30 years experience working for GE Healthcare across Africa, Amazon (AWS), Massachusetts General Hospital in the USA, and a number of successful and growing startups.

We are experts in Africa healthcare product distribution and healthcare systems, user-focused design, collaborative research, and product scaling.

The Jamii Life team has had support from MIT and Harvard.

Most of all, we care. At Jamii, we have roots in the communities we serve. The impact we have on user’s lives is personal, and based on the founder’s own experiences with similar struggles. The team and our operations are based in Cape Town, South Africa and also maintains a small presence in Boston, U.S.A., a global med-tech hub.

Focused on the Western Cape

Quality care starts with the community. That’s why we’re fully dedicated not only to providing dependable homecare, but also to the wellbeing of the community as a whole. We employ members of the community in service of our elders.
